In Memory of William Wilcox
William P. Wilcox, 50, of Springfield, Missouri passed away November 23, 2017. He was born on June 30, 1967 in Columbia, Missouri to Phyllis and Carl Wilcox, joining older siblings David Wilcox and Beth Wilcox Adamson. He was a 1984 graduate of Glendale High School and attended Drury University on a tennis scholarship before graduating from Missouri State University with a degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Administration. His passions in life included tennis, cooking, the outdoors, and spending time with family and many friends. He will be missed by many. He was quick to lend a hand to friend and stranger alike, and brightened any room he entered with his sharp wit and loving nature. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Wilcox and sister Beth Wilcox Adamson. He is survived by his children Lauren and Liam Wilcox of Dillon, Colorado, his mother Phyllis Wilcox, his brother David Wilcox, sister-in-law Sue Wilcox, brother-in-law John Adamson, nieces and nephews Billy and Mary Wilcox, and Emily and Elaine Adamson, and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home (1947 E. Seminole) from 6-7:30 pm on Tuesday, November 28 followed by a short prayer service. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Fergus Monaghan at Holy Trinity Church (2818 E. Bennett) at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 29.
